Sina Villa Medici
Description
Sina Villa Medici is a historic early-19th-century palace located in the Prato district of Florence, on the site where the former Monastery of Sant’Anna once stood.
In 1958, the founder of the Sina Hotels Group, Count Ernesto Bocca, stopped one day to admire the elegant 19th-century façade of the building. With a deep appreciation for beauty and heritage, he decided to purchase the historic residence to preserve and continue the long tradition of Italian hospitality.
After a careful restoration, the palace was transformed into an exclusive five-star hotel—the first property of the Sina Hotels collection. Over the years, it became a prestigious meeting place for aristocrats and internationally renowned personalities, including Liza Minnelli, Luciano Pavarotti, David Bowie, Roberto Benigni, Kate Moss, George Clooney, Giorgio Armani, U2, Annie Lennox, and Gianni Versace.
Today the palace still preserves its original architecture and houses valuable antique pieces throughout its interiors. The highlight is the Royal Suite, whose grand salon is protected by the Italian Ministry of Fine Arts, recognizing its historical and artistic significance.
